SECURITY DOOR TESTING

Security door testing & Regulations

security door testing

Company and individual requirements.

In Western Australia the security door industry is regulated by the WA Police through the Commercial Agents. This basically means that for a security door company to operate in WA they must adhere to what is set out by them. This includes security door testing.

COMPANY

For a company to operate as a security company they MUST have an AGENTS LICENCE.
An Agents Licence makes sure that…

  • 1. The company is fully insured e.g. $10,000,000 public liability.
  • 2. The Agent has signed a Code of Conduct set out by the commercial agents.
  • 3. Background checks have been done on the Agent holder.
  • 4. They have the knowledge of what is required by law done via testing.

CONSULTING

For a company to advise and consult on security, the individual must hold a CONSULTANTS LICENCE and this licence must be employed under a company holding an Agent Licence.
A Consultants licence ensures that…

  • 1. The individual is qualified to consult and provide advise via a test.
  • 2. The individual has signed a code of conduct set out by the commercial agents.
  • 3. A background check has been done including taking finger prints.

INSTALLING

For a company to install security doors, the individual must hold an INSTALLERS LICENCE. Just like the Consultants Licence the Installers Licence must be employed under a company holding an Agents Licence.
An Installers licence ensures that…

  • 1. The individual is qualified to install security doors via a test.
  • 2. The individual has signed a code of conduct set out by the commercial agents.
  • 3. A background check has been done including taking finger prints.

IN HOUSE TESTING

These tests are on top of the Australian Standards.
Our own testing goes above and beyond the Australian Standards.
The videos below show what type of test we do to our doors and screens. However these are not required by law in the Australian Standard security door testing.
There are many reason we do our own testing. Above all, we believe these types of impact tests far exceed the impact testing currently required by the Australian Standards. This ensures we are at the top of our industry and we can have confidence in what we are selling.
For example standards only require a door to pass 3 impacts of 100 joules. All of the below impacts are far more than 100 joules.
